Kersey/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — The Miami Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays have agreed upon a deal that sends Jose Reyes, Josh Johnson, Mark Buehrle and Emilio Bonafacio to the Jays in exchange for shortstop Yunel Escobar, pitcher Henderson Alvarez, catcher Jeff Mathis and four prospects, according to sources who spoke with ESPN.

Major League Baseball must go over the amount of money changing hands and players must have phyicals before the trade can be officially approved.

The trade comes one season after the Marlins opened up a new ballpark and signed a plethora of players, including Reyes (six years, $106 million) and Buerhle (four years, $58 million).

Since the beginning of the 2012 season, the Marlins have also traded shortstop Hanley Ramirez, closer Heath Bell, starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez and second baseman Omar Infante, while firing manager Ozzie Guillen.

The Marlins’ young power-hitting star Giancarlo Stanton tweeted almost immediately following news of the trade.

“Alright, I’m [ticked] off!!! Plain & Simple,” Stanton tweeted.
