Feds Drop Charges Against Former Syracuse Coach Bernie Fine
Published at(NEW YORK) — Federal prosecutors in Central New York are dropping their investigation of former Syracuse University assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine.
Prosecutors found insufficient evidence to support claims Fine molested a boy in a hotel room in 2002 while the Syracuse Orangemen were on the road in Pittsburgh.
Fine denied the charges but was fired after the accusations became public.
Investigators interviewed scores of witnesses and examined tens of thousands of pages of documents. In the end, prosecutors said they were unable to develop sufficient credible evidence.
