Gigantic Waterspout Spotted Off Australia

F1online/Thinkstock(SYDNEY) — A gigantic waterspout was spotted Sunday off the coast of Australia about 170 miles south of Sydney.

The waterspout lasted for approximately 15 minutes and caused no damage.

The storm that caused the spout was responsible for more than 24,000 lightning strikes in the area.
