BOISE – State election officials say Idaho has issued 159,000 absentee ballots, down from nearly 200,000 in the last presidential election.
Deputy Secretary of State Tim Hurst says he probably won’t know the final number of absentee votes cast until Wednesday morning.
A Gallup poll issued last week predicts that nationwide voter turnout will likely fall short of 2004 and 2008.
