Janeane Garofalo Dissolves 20-Year Marriage She Didn’t Know About

Stephen Lovekin/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Have you ever been married and didn’t know about it? Apparently, Janeane Garofalo has.
The New York Post reports that the comedian had to file for a divorce this weekend, due to the fact that she wasn’t aware she was still married.
Garofalo had married Big Bang Theory producer Rob Cohen in the 1990s, when they were both writers for The Ben Stiller Show. It was a quick exchange of vows in Las Vegas that was meant to be a joke, and the two never realized that those vows remained legitimate, she explained at a New York Comedy Festival on Saturday night.
“We dated for a year, and we got married at a drive-through chapel in a cab,” Garofalo said. “[We thought] you have to go down to the courthouse and sign papers and stuff, so who knew? We were married, and apparently now that [Rob] is getting married for real, his lawyer dug up something.”
