The British paper The Daily Mail helped spread the claim by reprinting a story from the German tabloid Bild, which claimed that while J-Lo was staying at a hotel in Dusseldorf, Germany, a maid named Bete Dodaj knocked on her door to ask her for an autograph.  Two assistants turned the maid away, and the next day, she claims, she was fired because the star had complained about being “disturbed.”

But Jennifer tweeted on Tuesday, “C’mon thought you knew me better than this… Would never get anyone fired over an autograph. 1st I heard of this was on twitter. #hurtful.”

You may recall that Jennifer actually played a hotel maid in the movie Maid in Manhattan, so for all we know, she might treat maids better than other stars.

By the way, things ended up working out for the allegedly fired maid: Bild later reported that she had received two new job offers in one day.
