Jones was asked on his radio show in Dallas if he would ever step down from his role as the general manager.

“We are not structured that way,” Jones responded on KRLD-FM in Dallas Tuesday morning. “We didn’t structure it that way with my ownership. There’s no way that I would be involved here and not be the final decision-maker on something as important as players, and that is a key area. That’s never been anybody’s misunderstanding. It’s been a debated thing, but it’s just not going to happen.”

Jones has never had trouble as an owner, spending whatever amount of money it takes to put a winning product on the field.  He also built a brand-new $1.2 billion stadium for the team to play in.

It is as a general manager where Jones has struggled.  The Cowboys have won just two playoff games since winning the Super Bowl in the 1995 season.

The Cowboys are have a 3-5 record heading into this week’s game on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles.
