While the gang’s summer house is said to be standing, the roller coasters they’ve ridden on and the boardwalk they’ve stumbled on are now twisted into the Atlantic.  Restaurants seen in the show and the Shore Store where the roommates worked were pounded by the rushing surf.

The stars of the show are sounding off in statements and via social media.

“Sandy destroyed Seaside — our second home,” Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi said to MTV.  She also tweeted, “…my prayers go out to everyone affected!,” before later posting she and baby Lorenzo were seeking shelter at her mom’s home in upstate New York.

“Seeing seaside and what has happened in my hometown is beyond devastating.  I have no words,” tweeted Sammi Giancola.

Ronnie Magro tweeted, “This is crazy living there for 4 summers & seeing in such disaster! What do u mean no more boardwAlk?,” while Jenni “JWoww” Farley said in a statement, “I am thinking about my second family at the Jersey Shore and know that we can rebuild and come back stronger.”

On an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, JWoww explained her fiancee Roger was on his jet-ski, rescuing people from the flooded Seaside streets.
