Jobless Claims Fall to 355K After October Jobs Report
Published at | Updated at(WASHINGTON) — Jobless claims dropped by 8,000 last week to kick off the month of November, the Labor Department reported Thursday.
For the week ending Nov. 3, the number of people filing for benefits fell to 355,000. The previous week, claims stood at 363,000.
The four-week, meanwhile, went up, increasing by 3,250 to 370,500.
The figures come on the heels of the latest monthly jobs report, which found that the unemployment rate rose to 7.9 percent in October while 171,000 jobs were added to the U.S. economy.
