(STATE COLLEGE, Pa.) — Wisconsin running back Montee Ball is the new NCAA touchdown leader. His 17-yard run in the first quarter of Wisconsin’s 24-21 overtime loss to Penn State, moves him past former Miami (Ohio) running back Travis Prentice, who set the mark in 1999.
Ball finished the day rushing for 111 yards on 27 carries. He has rushed for 1,518 yards and 18 touchdowns this season.
Last season, Ball tied Barry Sanders’ record for most touchdowns in a season with 39.
