NBC Wins November Sweeps for First Time in Nine Years

Hemera/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — NBC achieved a rare ratings milestone for itself this month.
Deadline.com reports that for the first time since 2003, the network has won the November sweeps, one of four major ratings periods over the course of the year. This month’s sweep actually began on Oct. 25 and ends Wednesday night.
NBC was the only major broadcast network to enjoy an increase in its rating in the advertiser-coveted 18- to 49-year-old demographic from the November 2011 sweep.
NBC’s victory is due in large part to its Sunday Night Football broadcasts — including this past weekend’s game, which was the most-watched program for the week ending Sunday — and the success of The Voice.
CBS has been the most popular network so far this fall season in terms of overall viewers.
CBS won the network ratings race for last week, followed by ABC, NBC, Fox, Univision, the CW, Telemundo and ION Television.
Here are the top 10 primetime programs for the week of Nov. 12-18, according to the Nielsen Company:
1. NFL Football: Baltimore at Pittsburgh, NBC, 18.16 million
2. The Big Bang Theory, CBS, 17.63 million
3. NCIS, CBS, 17.05 million
4. NCIS: Los Angeles, CBS, 15.77 million
5. Person of Interest, CBS, 14.57 million
6. 60 Minutes, CBS, 14.04 million
7. Two and a Half Men, CBS, 13.87 million
8. Dancing with the Stars, ABC, 13.79 million
9. Sunday Night NFL Pre-Kick, NBC, 12.91 million
10. Criminal Minds, CBS, 12.2 million
