NFL Preview: Packers At Giants
Published at(NEW YORK) — In what could be an NFC playoff preview, the last two Super Bowl champions, the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers (7-3) will square off on Sunday night in a big game for both teams.
Green Bay comes in having won six straight games and are tied for the division lead with the Bears in the NFC North. The Giants (6-4) are clinging onto a 1.5 lead in the NFC East after the Redskins (5-6) handled the Cowboys on Thursday.
“I’m really tired about answering all the questions about what is wrong,” said Giants head coach Tom Coughlin. “We play a game and play it well, answer the questions that way.”
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has thrown 27 touchdowns with only six interceptions despite being sacked 32 times.
“I feel Aaron is having a very good season,” Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said. “He’s what makes us go on offense.”
The Giants are coming off a bye week and quarterback Eli Manning is hoping to break the two-game losing streak and his streak of three straight games without a touchdown pass.
“I think you just try and get rest and come back fresh,” Manning said. “Obviously, I think having a week off just to get your mind off of football a little bit, then you come back and you’re just excited, re-energized, have a great week of preparation.”
