NFL Preview: Saints at Falcons
Published at(NEW YORK) — The New Orleans Saints will look to hand the Atlanta Falcons (10-1) their second loss of the season on Thursday night when they travel to the Georgia Dome.
New Orleans handed the Falcons their lone loss of the season on Nov. 11 after they ended the Falcons 8-0 start with a 31-27 victory.
It’s a big game for the Saints if they are going to have any shot at a playoff spot, sitting at 5-6, currently one game out of the final spot in the NFC playoff picture.
“It’s a divisional game, obviously those are important,” said Saints quarterback Drew Brees. “Atlanta’s been a playoff team here for the last three years.”
Atlanta is coming off a close victory over the Cardinals last weekend.
“This has been an organization (Saints) that have been at a high level since I’ve been in the NFL” said Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan. “We need to play our best and that’s what we need to focus on.”
