NFL Suspends DE Cunningham 4 Games
Published at(FOXBOROUGH, Mass.) — New England Patriots defensive end Jermaine Cunningham was suspended for four games without pay by the National Football League on Monday for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. The NFL did not identify the banned substance.
The Patriots selected Cunningham out of Florida in the second round of the 2010 NFL draft.
In 11 games this season, the 24-year-old Cunningham has 23 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks. He is eligible to return in the Patriots’ season finale against the Miami Dolphins.
