(TUSCALOOSA, Ala.) –In an all-around dominating fashion, No. 2 Alabama crushed Auburn 49-0 in the Iron Bowl to improve to 10-1.
AJ McCarron threw for 216 yards and four touchdowns on 21 attempts.
Running back Eddie Lacy added 131 yards on the ground and two scores in what was the most lopsided Iron Bowl in 64 years,
The win also gave the Crimson Tide a 7-1 record in the SEC which clinched them a sport in the conference title game against No. 3 Georgia. The winner of that game is most likely headed to the national championship game.
Alabama dominated from start to finish, outgaining Auburn 483-163 in yards and 25-7 in first downs earned.
Auburn dropped to 3-9 in what turned out to be the worst season for any team coming off a national title within two years.
