(TALLAHASSEE, FL) — No.4 Florida scored 24 straight points in the fourth quarter to defeat Florida State 37-26 Saturday, keeping its national title hopes alive.
The Gators improved to 11-1 and 7-1 in the SEC. Their one loss came at the hands of No.3 Georgia and that will keep them out of the conference title game.
A loss by Notre Dame would also keep Florida in the conversation for a spot in the national title game.
Mike Gillislee scored two touchdowns for the Gators including the one that helped them regain the lead with 11:01 left in the fourth quarter.
Florida State fell to 10-2 after committing five turnovers. They will play Georgia Tech next week in the ACC title game.
Jeff Driskel passed for 147 yards and one touchdown, a 14-yarder which all but iced the game in the fourth quarter.
In the loss, Florida State kicker Dustin Hopkins kicked 50 and 53 yard field goals to tie former Georgia kicker Billy Bennett’s NCAA record of 87 career field goals.
