Danilo Gallinari had a season-high 26 points to lead the Nuggets past the Grizzlies 97-92 at the FedEx Forum.

The Nuggets (5-6) had not received a great performance from Gallinari before Monday, but the outburst was enough to beat Memphis and end their long winning streak.

“I was just trying to be aggressive,” Gallinari said. “That’s what coach [George Karl] wants me to do in order to get to the free throw line. I was just trying to do that.”

For the Grizzlies (8-2), they squandered a late lead and committed 17 turnovers. “We didn’t come out at the beginning with a great effort defensively or offensively,” Memphis coach Lionel Hollins said.

The Nuggets also got 13 points and 13 rebounds from forward Kenneth Faried, as Denver outrebounded Memphis 47-33.
