(IDAHO FALLS) – An explosive device found during a traffic stop north of Idaho Falls Thursday was an altered firework.
Dallin Baggett, 19, of Rexburg, was arrested after a routine traffic stop yielded marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.
Officials also discovered what appeared to be a homemade bomb that was later determined to be a modified firecracker. The device was detonated by bomb squad crews several yards away from the highway.
Traffic near the Hitt Road exit was diverted for about three hours during the investigation.
