Rand Paul Drops Hints About White House Run

United States Senate(WASHINGTON) -- If the Republicans want to break their White House losing streak, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul suggested on Tuesday that he's just the candidate who can put the GOP back in the winning column.

Paul told ABC News, "I am different than some in that I’m not going to deny that I’m interested.  I’m not going to deny that I think we have to go a different direction because we’re not winning."

Other potential contenders, such as Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan, have been cagey about their 2016 intentions.

One way to turn GOP fortunes around, Paul said, was to look less at the big picture and instead localize issues to state governments.

Paul, a first-term senator, has a very close advisor he can turn to if he decides to vie for the GOP nomination.  His dad, Texas Congressman Ron Paul, ran for the White House in 2008 and 2012.
