(NEW YORK) — The New York Jets quarterback situation has been a hot topic of conversation between Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow. But according to a report from the New York Daily News, some Jets players don’t think too highly of Tebow.
The paper reportedly spoke to 12 offensive and defensive players on the team regarding Snachez and Tebow. Nearly all those players think that Sanchez is the better player.
“He’s terrible,” one defensive player told the paper regarding Tebow.
“Hell, no!” one starter told the paper when asked if Tebow should start. “You got to keep defenses honest. You can’t just lineup in the Wildcat all the time. That won’t work.”
While Tebow’s quarterback skills have been under fire in the past, Sanchez has struggled mightily this season as well. He has an NFL-worst 52 percent completion percentage and has an NFL-leading four redzone interceptions. He also ranks 30th out of 33 NFL quarterbacks in quarterback rating.
Meanwhile, Tebow has been used sparingly this season. He’s completed five out of six passes for 40 yards and also has 92 rushing yards.
