(DUBAI, United Arab Emirates) — Rory McIlroy capped off a huge year with a win at the Dubai World Championship on Sunday.
The 23-year-old Northern Irishman finished with a six-under par round of 66 in the final round, for a total 23-under 265 beating Justin Rose by two strokes.
McIlroy also won the PGA Championship and the European and PGA tour money titles this year.
“I don’t think I could of written any better myself,” McIlroy said. “I just wanted to win this tournament so badly, just to finish the season off on a high.”
But even with all his success in 2012, the kid is ready for 2013.
“It’s been a great season, I’m already excited about 2013 and what that may hold,” said McIlroy. “I’m going to soak it all in over the next couple weeks and concentrate on next season and try and get even better for that.”
