(NEW YORK) — Two of the best defensive backs in the NFL could be missing time for the Seattle Seahawks.
Accoring to league sources who spoke with ESPN.com, Seahawks cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner will be suspended for violations of the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy.
Sherman has three interceptions for Seattle, while Browner has three picks this season. Browner was elected to the Pro Bowl last season.
The sources say both players will appeal their suspensions, which could be heard as early as this week. If the tandem does miss time, Seattle has veteran options such as Marcus Trufant to replace them in the defensive lineup.
Seattle, at 6-5 and coming off a three-point loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, are in a close race with two other six-win teams for the second wild-card spot in the NFC.
