(NEW YORK) — A Spirit Airlines flight was held for a short time at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on Monday after a flight attendant overheard a passenger allegedly making a threatening statement.
Upon hearing the comment, the flight attendant called authorities and the flight was moved to a separate part of the runway. The man who allegedly made the comment was taken off the plane and into Port Authority police custody.
The plane has been cleared to leave and will be departing to Fort Lauderdale shortly.
Flight 197, from LaGuardia to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was originally scheduled to depart at 10:45 a.m.
