MIN Budinger Chase? SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1352756620830NBA via Minnesota Timberwolves(MINNEAPOLIS) — Already dealing with a slew of injuries, the Minnesota Timberwolves have another player down. Forward Chase Budinger is out indefinitely with a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Budinger suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of the team’s loss to the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night. He was injured trying to recover a lose ball after Dante Cuningham’s shot was blocked by Bulls’ forward Taj Gibson.

“It was one of those crazy plays where my foot got sutck,” Budinger told NBA.com. “It got tangled up. I felt my leg twist. … The injuries are tough. It’s frustrating because I’ve never had a knee problem [like this].”

This is the latest blow to the Timberwovles. The team is already dealing with injuries to Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, J.J. Barea and Brandon Roy.

Team officials have said that Budinger will need surgery to repair the injury, but no timetable has been determined as to when he’ll be able to return to the court. Unless there is more severe damage, the typical recovery time for this type of injury is two months.

The 24-year old Budinger was averaging 11.8 points per game for the team this season.
