Top Ranked Indiana Fends Off Georgetown in Overtime, 82-72

Getty NCAA Balls?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1353485331121G Fiume/Maryland Terrapins/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Indiana received 17 points and eight rebounds from Cody Zeller, as the top ranked Hoosiers stopped Georgetown in overtime 82-72, to win the Legends Classic tournament.

“This is great for us because when you play a team as good as Georgetown you can’t have slip ups,” Indiana head coach Tom Crean said. “We’ll learn from this but at the same time, we gutted it out, we had great toughness, great passion, great resolve tonight. It’s a fantastic win for our program.”

Otto Porter scored 15 points for Georgetown (3-1) and hit the shot that sent the game to overtime, but Yogi Ferrell scored seven of his 14 points in overtime to lead Indiana (5-0) to the victory.

Indiana is now off until Sunday when it takes on Ball State. Georgetown will host Mount Saint Mary’s on Saturday.
