(CAIRO) — On Saturday, almost 50 children were killed when a train crashed into a bus on its way to kindergarten school.
The barriers were reportedly open when a bus full of 60 young children, ranging from the ages four to six, crossed the train tracks 230 miles south of Cairo.
Family members are said to have searched the tracks for the remains of their relatives.
Egyptian state media said the Minister of Transportation and the Head of the Railway Authority have resigned.
President Mursi has ordered an investigation.
