Boston College’s Jerry York Breaks NCAA Hockey Record
Published at(MINNAPOLIS) – Boston College’s Jerry York won his 925th career game Saturday afternoon, breaking the NCAA Division 1 record for most victories by a hockey head coach.
The 67-year-old York passed former Michigan State coach Ron Mason on the all-time wins list after the top-ranked Eagles iced Alabama-Huntsville in the Mariucci Classic, 5-2.
“I’ve always been about team,” York said. “As a player I was like that, as a coach I’ve been like that. I really haven’t sought individual goals.”
In 19 seasons at Boston College, York has compiled a record of 458-223-61, winning four national championships.
