Britney Spears to Be ‘Fired’ from “The X Factor?”

Ray Mickshaw / FOX(NEW YORK) — After the first season of The X Factor, judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul were shown the door. Now the same thing may happen to season two judge Britney Spears.
An insider tells Us Weekly magazine that Britney “will get the boot” from the show, adding, “Producers wanted her for the long haul, but it isn’t working.” Apparently, the issue is Britney’s huge $15 million salary, which the producers feel that the singer hasn’t “earned.” A second insider dishes to the magazine, “They paid all that for her to say ‘amazing’ and offer half-claps.”
In fact, Britney’s work on the show has been praised by critics. So what exactly were producers expecting? A third source says X Factor honcho Simon Cowell “wanted crazy Britney, but he got boring Britney.”
If true, things sure have changed. Back in October, Simon praised Britney, telling reporters that “she has been…a very, very good judge.”
