Chinese Factory Fire Kills at Least 14
Published at(NEW YORK) — China’s state-run media is reporting that a fire in a garment factory in the southern part of the country has killed more than a dozen people.
The fire broke out in Shantou City in Guangdong province. At least 14 people were killed.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
This comes less than two weeks after last month’s deadly fire at a clothing factory in Bangladesh that killed more than 100 people, underscoring dangerous workplace conditions in that part of the world.
