Choo Sent to Reds in 3-Team Trade
Published at(NEW YORK) — The Cincinnati Reds acquired outfielder Shin-Soo Choo in a three-team trade involving the Cleveland Indians and the Arizona Diamondbacks Tuesday night.
The Indians also sent shortstop Jason Donald and cash to the Reds.
The Reds sent outfielder Drew Stubbs to the Indians, who also acquired right-handed pitchers Trevor Bauer, Matt Albers and Bryan Shaw from the Diamondbacks.
The Diamondbacks received first baseman Lars Anderson and reliever Tony Sipp from the Indians, and minor league shortstop Didi Gregorius from the Reds.
Choo hit .283 with 16 home runs, 67 RBIs and had an on-base-percentage of .373 last season. He is expected to play center field for the Reds.
