Bonneville Apartments fire

(IDAHO FALLS, ID)  —   Shortly after 3pm Monday afternoon, Idaho Falls Fire Crews were called to the Bonneville Apartments in the 600 block of Park Avenue.    Fire was seen by witnesses coming out of the upper floor windows.   Emergency crews evacuated residents from those floors and did bring people out on gurneys.    At least 8 people were taken to EIRMC for treatment of smoke inhalation.  One person apparently was experiencing chest pains.     Resident victims were taken to the City Hall Annex Building for them to get out of the cold and to find relatives.
The Red Cross is on hand to assist those who have been displaced.    Fire fighters remain on the scene continuing to sift through the building,  and to handle hot spots.    No word yet on how this fire may have started.
Traffic had to be diverted on to D Street, and Constitution was shut down to traffic.

Fire Investigators still have NOT determined the cause of the fire.  Damages are estimated to be over 100-thousand dollars.
