(TEMPE, Ariz.) — Michigan State (7-6) outlasted TCU (7-6) Saturday night in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl 17-16, behind Dan Conroy’s 47-yard field goal with 1:01 left in the fourth quarter.
The Spartans trailed 13-0 late in the third when Connor Cook connected with Aaron Burbridge on a 15-yard touchdown pass to cut the deficit to six. They would take a one point lead midway through the fourth quarter on a Le’Veon Bell four yard touchdown run.
TCU regained control of the game thanks to a 53-yard field goal from Jaden Oberkrom with 2:42 left, but the Horned Frogs defense came up short, allowing Michigan State to drive 45 yards on eight plays, setting up the game-winning field goal.
