The indictment is on one count of intoxication manslaughter stemming from a Dec. 8 crash that killed Brown’s friend and Cowboys practice squad member Jerry Brown.

Police in the Dallas area say Brent was speeding when his vehicle struck a curb and flipped.  Brown was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Brent is currently out of jail on a $100,000 bond. The intoxication manslaughter charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Sources say Brent could be eligible for probation.

Dallas County District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Debbie Denmon says that no court dates have been scheduled yet.

The Cowboys play the Washington Redskins Sunday for the NFC East title.
