Brees’ touchdown pass to wide out Jimmy Graham with 10:45 minutes left in the third quarter put him into the record books.  Brees finished with 396 yards with four touchdown passes, leaving him 298 yards shy of his record breaking 5,476 yards passing in 2011.

Panthers quarterback Cam Newton topped off a tough sophomore season with 248 yards and no touchdown passes in the victory.  Carolina’s run game was the key to the win on Sunday.  DeAngelo Williams rushed for 210 yards with two touchdowns and Mike Tolbert added three of his own.

Carolina took a 27-24 lead after converting Brees’ 19th interception of the season and never would look back, ending the season with four straight victories.
