(NEW YORK) — After taking Utah State to its first bowl victory in 19 years, Gary Andersen will depart from Utah and head to Wisconsin to become the next coach of the Badgers, sources told ESPN.
Andersen cannot be announced the next head coach until Thursday, but The Wisconsin State Journal reported that two sources close to athletic director Barry Alvarez said Andersen was his top choice.
Utah State went 11-2 in 2012 and topped their season off with a 41-15 win in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl over Toledo.
During his four year tenure with the Aggies, Andersen went 27-24.
