New York’s playoff chances ended after the Chicago Bears topped the Detroit Lions, 26-24. Eli Manning threw a career-high five touchdowns in the rout of the Eagles, but will have the offseason to think about what could have been.

This will be the seventh straight season that the defending Super Bowl champion failed to win a playoff game the following year.

The Giants were blown out the previous two weeks by the Falcons and Ravens, which didn’t help their playoff chances.

Michael Vick threw for 197 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles final game of the season.  Vick may have seen his last start in Philadelphia, along with head coach Andy Reid, who both have been surrounded by questions of their return next season.
