Group Cleans River of Trash

(SWAN VALLEY) – Nearly a month after a semi truck crashed near the Swan Valley Bridge in Bonneville County, volunteers are still cleaning up trash and debris.

KIDK reports crews had pulled 40 to 50 garbage bags worth of garbage from the Snake River Thursday. The truck had been loaded with boxes of frozen hamburger patties at the time of the crash, dumping thousands of pounds of frozen beef into the river.

Organizers say the meat hasn’t harmed the river’s ecosystem. They hope to have all of the inorganic material cleaned up by today.
