Hotel Guests Targeted in Newest Scam

(IDAHO FALLS) – Local hotels and its guests are the victims of a new scam that hit east Idaho.
A scam alert was issued Sunday for anyone staying in hotels around Idaho Falls. The scammer calls and asks for a specific room number, then, once transferred, asks the customer for private information such as addresses and credit card numbers, claiming the hotel’s system had incorrect information.
Officials said tenants should only give out that kind of information to the front desk in person.
