(POCATELLO) – The state of Idaho has been ranked the seventh most generous state in America, according to a new report released by The Chronicle of Philanthropy.
Gem State residents reported 6.4 percent of their discretionary income to non-profit groups last year. In addition, Idahoans donate a significantly higher amount of volunteer time, with 32 percent of residents doing volunteer work, opposed to the national average of 26 percent.
The state of Utah topped the list of most generous states, with residents donating 10.6 percent of their income to non-profits.
