(NEW YORK) — The Cleveland Indians have agreed to a contract with free agent outfilder Nick Swisher, according to the player’s Twitter account.
According to an ESPN source, the deal is for four years and $56 million with a $14 million option for a fifth season.
Swisher has played the last four seasons with the New York Yankees, batting .272 with 24 homeruns and 93 RBIs.
“Wow! What a crazy few weeks. Hey Cleveland! Are you ready? Because I’m coming home! #RollTribe,” Swisher tweeted on Sunday. He played his college baseball at Ohio State.
The Indians have been looking for an outfielder after trading Shin-Soo-Choo to the Cincinnati Reds earlier this month.
