(IDAHO FALLS) – Federal budget cuts across the board spell a bleak future for eastern Idaho’s largest employer.

KIDK reports officials at the Idaho National Laboratory are concerned that a reduction in funding could have a negative impact on area businesses. The Partnership for Science and Technology is asking the public to offer their support for the INL by contacting elected officials, including Gov. Butch Otter.

Major budget cuts are scheduled to take place Jan. 2.
