Jobless Claims Fall to 370K Ahead of November Jobs Report
Published at(WASHINGTON) — Jobless claims continued to fall in the final days of November, the Labor Department reported on Thursday.
For the week ending Dec. 1, the number of people filing for benefits dropped by 25,000 to 370,000. The previous week, claims stood at 395,000.
The four-week average, meanwhile, increased slightly, climbing by 2,250 to 408,000.
Americans will get to see just how big of an impact Superstorm Sandy had on the jobs market in November when the Labor Department releases its monthly employment report Friday morning.
