(NEW YORK) — There’s no place like Bucklebury for the holidays. That’s where Kate Middleton’s parents live and that’s where she and Prince William will be spending Christmas, apparently to the chagrin of Queen Elizabeth II, reports Us Weekly.
It seems the Queen holds a Christmas gathering at her Sandringham Estate each year and she expected her grandson and his wife, also known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, to be there as well.
However, Middleton has been suffering from an acute form of morning sickness due to her pregnancy and is laying low with her parents, husband William, and siblings Pippa and James despite Her Majesty acknowledging “this difficult time.”
Never one to disappoint, however, Us Weekly reports the Duchess and Duke will make an appearance at Sandringham some point during the holidays.
