Kate Winslet Marries Ned Rocknroll in New York

MICHAEL GOTTSCHALK/AFP/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Kate Winslet loves “Rocknroll.” The Oscar-winning actress tied the knot with Ned Rocknroll, a nephew of Virgin mogul Richard Branson, early this month in New York.
Winslet’s rep has confirmed the wedding to ABC News, saying it was attended by the actress’ “two children and a very few friends and family.” The rep adds that the couple had been engaged since the summer.
Britain’s Daily Mail further reports that Winslet’s Titanic and Revolutionary Road co-star, Leonardo DiCaprio, gave away the bride, and that the couple’s parents didn’t know about the ceremony.
The 37-year-old Winslet and the 34-year-old Rocknroll, whose birth name is Abel Smith, reportedly have been in a relationship for over a year.
This is Winslet’s third marriage; she was previously married to directors Jim Threapleton and Sam Mendes. She has one child with each ex-husband.
This is the second marriage for Rocknroll, who, like Winslet, is British.
