Katie Holmes Takes Suri to Ohio for Christmas; Broadway Play Getting Pulled Early

ChinaFotoPress/ChinaFotoPress via Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Katie Holmes and her daughter, Suri Cruise, shared a traditional Midwestern Christmas in Toledo, Ohio. The actress, who divorced Tom Cruise over the summer, returned to her roots and celebrated with her family in her hometown, reports Us Weekly.
An insider says, “Suri went to spend Christmas with Katie’s family back home,” adding, “There was never a doubt that Katie would have Suri for Christmas morning.”
The Us Weekly source explains, “Katie thinks getting Suri out of the city is healthy for her — seeing how life is outside of their world there.”
Holmes rushed back to Manhattan on Dec. 26 to resume performances of her Broadway play Dead Accounts, while Suri joined her father.
E! Online reported Thursday that Dead Accounts will close Jan. 6, 2013, seven weeks earlier than initially planned. Producer Jeffrey Finn says in a statement obtained by E!, “Theresa Rebeck and Jack O’Brien have created an inspiring and hilarious new play and we are all sad to see Dead Accounts end on Broadway. I look forward to working with this remarkably talented cast and creative team again very soon.”
The play opened late last month to mostly negative reviews.
