Lottery Scam Targets East Idaho

(REXBURG) – A lottery scam is targeting eastern Idaho. The Better Business Bureau says scammers are calling residents telling them that they’ve won the lottery.
Potential victims are told that they can collect their winnings by paying a small transfer fee, which requires the disclosure of banking information.
Officials say that while it’s easy to spot the scam, some Idahoans have lost more than $90,000 from people claiming to represent the Idaho Lottery.
