Louisiana-Lafayette Wins R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl

Getty 122212 LA Lafayette?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1356213735218Chris Graythen/Getty Images(NEW ORLEANS. LA) — Terrence Broadway had 424 all-purpose yards to lead Louisiana-Lafayette to a 43-34 win over East Carolina in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.

The Ragin’ Cajuns jumped out to a 28-7 lead in the second quarter off of two-consecutive touchdown runs by Alonzo Harris and never looked back.  Harris paved the way on the ground with 120 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Broadway completed 21 passes for 316 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.  He also ran 15 times for 108 yards and a score.

The Pirates got to within 37-34 in the fourth quarter on a Warren Harvey 26-yard field goal, but Broadway was able to lead his team to two-field goals in the final three minutes to ice the game.

Louisiana-Lafayette capped off their season with a 9-4 record while East Carolina finished at 8-5.
