(NEW YORK) — Kathleen Kennedy, the new president of Lucasfilm, is a busy woman. She is helping to prepare a brand-new Star Wars film following Disney’s acquisition of the company this fall.
Kennedy tells ABC News Radio that work is well under way on a script for the movie, which will go into pre-production sometime in the spring.
What else can she tell us about the new Star Wars project? She teases, “I have no immediate update, but hopefully in January I’ll have something that I can say.”
In January, Kennedy might also celebrate some Golden Globe wins. She is one of the producers of Lincoln, which received a leading seven nominations on Thursday.
She says the accomplishment is notable because, “It’s important to movies like this that are difficult to get made and you’re looking for an audience. And from a business model, you’re trying to find ways in which more people can become aware of the film and go see the film.”
