(HOUSTON) — Mavericks shooting guard O.J. Mayo tied a career high with 40 points as Dallas (10-10) lassoed the Houston Rockets (9-10), 116-109.
The 25-year-old Mayo went 15 for 26 from the field, including six for nine from the three point line. He also pulled down eight rebounds and had three assists.
Mavericks center Chris Kaman, playing with a sprained ankle, scored 20 points and had seven rebounds in 19 minutes of action.
Rockets head coach Kevin McHale return to the bench for the first time in nearly a month, after the passing of his daughter two weeks ago.
