Navy Looking to Break Losing Streak Against Army

Rob Tringali/SportsChrome/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — College football’s most traditional game will take place on Saturday. The 113th meeting between Army and Navy will be held at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Since the two teams have played annually since 1930, Navy leads the series 56-49-7. For the first time since 2005, both teams enter the game in this storied rivalry with wins over Air Force, and the winner will take home the Commander In Chief’s Trophy.
“It’s the team that plays the best,” said Army head coach Rich Ellerson. “Which is always the way it is, the best team doesn’t win, the team that shows up and plays the best wins.”
Navy freshmen quarterback Keenan Reynolds isn’t looking past Army’s 2-9 record.
“College football’s a week to week game and anybody can beat anybody,” said Reynolds.
Navy (7-4) will have a tough task ahead when trying to stop Army senior quarterback Trent Steelman who intends on breaking the decade losing streak.
“It’d be the perfect ending to a season where we’ve seen so many ups and downs,” Steelman said.
